Music at Mount Olive

Music Sheets

Music

The Lutheran Church has often been called “the singing church” as the importance and relevance of music in our church dates back to the time of Martin Luther. Here at Mount Olive, music is an integral part of our liturgical Sunday services, as well as a deep source of meaning and joy for our many members and friends. In choosing music for our services, we treasure the heritage of well-known hymns, yet strive to include global music, spirituals, classical works and newly written sacred songs as well. Piano, organ and the choir lead the congregation in worship on Sundays and we welcome musical involvement from people of any age.

We offer a warm welcome to anyone who may wish to participate in our music ministry at any time.

Choir

Our choir meets every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8 p.m. during the months of September through May. Auditions are not required and youth and adults of all ages are invited to join us.

Instrumentalists

Our music program supports the use of a variety of instruments at our services for those who have intermediate or higher level playing skills. If anyone wishes to offer their instrumental talents to play prelude/offertory solos or obligato parts with the congregation and choir, please contact our Music Director to arrange a time for her to hear you play.

Meet Our Music Director

Heather Sabourin

As Music Director at Mount Olive Lutheran Church for the past 19 years, I am very grateful for the congregation’s love of music, treasuring it as a gift from God. Anyone interested in contributing to our music program should feel free to contact me.   I am also an avid reader and a grandmother to a 2 year old granddaughter who is the love and light of my life.
